Here at Greenhouse Home, we strive to continually curate updated designs that bring your home to life and give it the personality and intention it deserves. Recently, Greenhouse Home had the opportunity to design + stage a home on HGTV's Unsellable Houses. This particular home had been a rental for years, and before the remodel had a lot of damage. We really wanted to do something that would show off all the hard work that went into the remodel, so we decided to go with a simple, but still sophisticated design- perfect for a first time homebuyer!
In this home, we really emphasized the use of neutral tones, only adding a few pops of color with smaller accessories. We focused on neutral tones and clean lines in this home. To keep a sense of contemporary drama, we made sure to up the contrast in this home, adding dark, statement pieces, like the black Alibi Counter Stools and navy Whirl Chair.
We also used a lot more dual purpose wall décor. For example, one of our favorite things to use in decorating homes are statement mirrors. Metal Framed Wall Mirrors are a great way to add in some metallic elements without being too glamorous or over the top. We also love mirrors with a more architectural frame, like the Black Metal Wall Mirror, to add visual interest to a wall, without having it become a gallery.
Of course part of sophistication is having all of your living spaces put together and ready to use- including your own back yard! We styled this gorgeous outdoor living space with the Reno Club Chairs and Loveseat, an Umbrella for protection from the elements, and a few Carlo Arm Chairs around the fire pit. Now more than ever, having a put together, ready to use outdoor space is as functional as it is chic.
One last decorating pro-tip; if you want to keep things simple, but just a bit more sophisticated, update your containers. It's as easy as replacing that plastic soap bottle with a gorgeous stoneware dispenser, or putting those cotton balls into a glass container. This is probably one of the quickest and easiest ways to upgrade your home interior.
