Mid Century Modern Revival

Saying Mid-Century Modern had a revival would be a serious understatement. At its most basic level, Mid-Century Modern designs are known for juxtaposing sleek lines with organic shapes, using materials and methods to reimagine traditional pieces.

Let us not assume that all modern homes fit into one box. Mid-Century modern focuses on form and function.

In the latest episode of Unsellable Houses on HGTV, we used a mix of black, gold, and walnut woods, along with splashes of burnt orange and greenery from live plants to take the form from Mid-Century Modern and blended it mixed with more current functionality to bring the home to life.

With this in mind, we carefully chose furniture like the Godenza Dining Table, pictured below. Made from solid walnut, this round dining table has a unique base shape that not only adds visual interest, but also allows chairs to be pushed all the way in, making it a great piece for smaller dining spaces!

We also used a lot of black and white elements to add a sense of freshness and modernity, using clean high contrast lines. You can see this theme throughout the house in anything from the table linens to the toss pillows to the planters.
